Dancers Deck the Halls at Bull Run Warrior Retreat!

Navigating slippery roads and chilly winds, the Battlefield High School Dance Team descended on Bull Run Warrior Retreat one snowy afternoon like a special regiment of Santa's elves!  They responded to our last-minute call to deck our halls and bring some holiday spirit to the retreat for our final open house of 2013.

In a blur of impromptu choreography, the dancers adorned our tree and be-ribboned our stairs. Elves never looked so graceful!  Obviously, this group is used to working in sync!  With just a word from their sponsor, Melissa Golden, they would practically pirouette and jete from task to task!

While the main room was being adorned with holiday splendor, there was a competing flurry of motion in the kitchen where the rest of the dancers were making cookie magic like Keebler Elves.  They frosted and sprinkled platter after platter of Christmas cookies to be served to guests at the upcoming Holiday Open House.

What was really inspiring was to see all these young women so eager to do something to "Give Back" to our Warriors + Families.  They were very excited to be "hands on" by adding a home-y, festive touch to the retreat house to help our Open House visitors catch the SOWW vision of a "home away from home" for our recovering Warriors + Their Families.

Best of all - the dancers demonstrated that volunteering should always be energetic and fun!

They sprinkle, they frost, they decorate . . .
and they can dance too!!!

Yep - it was definitely beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas!

And here they are . . .
The beautiful and multi-talented Battlefield High School
Dance Team of 2013 / 2014!

In keeping with SOWW's mistletoe theme . . .

. . . the dancers wanted to send lots of love and kisses to all the Willing Warriors + Their Families this holiday season!

Many, many thanks to the BHS Dance Team sponsor,
Melissa Golden, for bringing her talented ladies to help make our
Holiday Open House a reality.
(And for applying her artistic eye and  taking all these wonderful photographs of our
"Secret Santa's Elves"!)

They made us very merry!
